Hanover, MD – Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley announced $3.2 million in new bikeways grants to fund 23 projects in four counties and 12 municipalities. “To build a modern transportation system that supports all Marylanders, we must seek a balanced approach and invest in alternative forms of travel like bicycling,” said O’Malley. “these grants will help local jurisdictions enhance their bicycle networks.” Since announcing the Maryland Bikeways Program in 2011, the state has invested $8.5 million to fund 74 projects across Maryland.
